Situated in the northern suburbs of Moscow in one of the most beautiful and ecologically safe areas, the Cosmos Hotel is by no means conveniently located for the city's main attractions, but it does sit next to VDNKh Metro Station, from which the Kremlin and Red Square are just 6 stops away. The Hotel windows give a magnificent view of "Losiny Ostrov" ("The Elk Island") a National Preserve and the All-Russia Exhibition Centre (V.V.C.), fairgrounds with various exhibitions and festivals held there, close to Ostankino Telecom Tower, Count Sheremetyev's Palace, the "Olimpijsky" Sports Complex and the "Sokolniki" Exhibition Complex. The Cosmos Hotel is a good 40-minute drive from Moscow's Sheremetevo International Airport. The Prospect Mira will take you north along the Yaroslavskoye Shosse (highway) on a popular coach tour to famous Old Russian towns rich in architectural monuments of the 12-14 centuries: Zagorsk (70 km from Moscow), Pereslavl-Zalessky (140 km), Rostov Veliky (210 km), Yaroslavl (263 km). The majestic 25-story Cosmos Hotel structure built in 1979 in accordance with the project created by French architects is a truly impressive sight for both city visitors and Moscovites. The imposing architecture is combined with the magnificent interior decor of the halls, gourmet cuisine offered by the restaurants, sophisticated splendour of the rooms. Here you will feel on top of the world.
The architectural asceticism expressed by the simplicity and harmony of its construction and the combination of glass and steel make the hotel similar to the spaceship striving to the universe. Even the interior of the hotel creates the atmosphere of cosmic freedom, purity and relaxation. In the immediate vicinity of the Cosmos Hotel, guests will find two of the most spectacular Soviet monuments in the city. The incredible titanium Space Obelisk, a soviet rocket blasting off into the sky on a 100 meter plume of glistening metallic smoke, was built in 1964 to celebrate Cosmanaut (space man) Yury Gagarin's first orbit of the earth. The monument houses an impressive museum detailing the history of Russian Cosmanautics and is guarded by a statue of a pensive Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, the father of Russian rocketry. Across the road from the Cosmos Hotel are towers the impressive "Worker and Collective Farm Girl" statue, designed by Vera Mukhina for the Soviet pavilion at the 1937 Paris Expo to embody the very spirit and energy of the Soviet State. Striding bravely forward, with hammer and sickle raised high, the enormous figures represented industrial progress and Soviet dynamism and are among the most famous images of the Soviet inter-war years.
Directly opposite the Cosmos Hotel stands the expansive All-Russian Exhibition Center. Initially created in 1939 as the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition, the center was intended to demonstrate the economic and industrial achievements of Socialism in Russia and provide a forum for monumental Stalinist architecture and design. The exhibition complex became a permanent fixture under President Brezhnev but by the 1980s rather than celebrating the might of Soviet industry, the pavilions began to exhibit more and more Western-manufactured goods. Visitors can wander freely throughout the exhibition complex visiting pavilions dedicated to Atomic Energy, the Russian Coal Industry, Education and Science, Electro-technology, Agriculture and the Russian Space Program, featuring a genuine Vostok rocket similar to the one that sent Gagarin into orbit on his first successful mission.|

The enormous Izmailovo Hotel complex was built in 1979 on the site of the historic Izmailovo village and Royal Estate, whose remaining buildings are clustered just a 10-minute walk east of the hotel. Owned by the Romanov boyars since the 16th century, the estate was the favorite retreat of Tsar Alexei and his son, the future Emperor Peter The Great. Peter spent much of his childhood there and was taught how to sail on the Estate lake, an early passion for sailing that grew and eventually led him to not only found the Russian Navy and launch Russia as a great European Naval power, but build the great port city of St. Petersburg on the shores of the Gulf of Finland.
During the 1980 Moscow Olympics the complex was used to accommodate many of the athletes attending the games and although not centrally located, the hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms at very reasonable rates. Justacross the road from Izmailovsky Park Metro Station where trains will whisk you in twenty minutes to Red Square, the Kremlin and all the other fascinating places of interest in Moscow (the hotel is 6 stops from Red Square and the center of the city).| Case «Alfa» |

The St. Daniel Monastery, one of the oldest in Russia, is a vivid example of wonderful Russian architecture. Strict beauty, astounding maturity and harmony of its ensemble make the Monastery a reflection of elevated simplicity and purity of Orthodox belief.
The complex of the Monastery also includes: the Over-the-Gates Church of St. Simeon Stylites, the Church of St. Serafim of Sarov is located in the northern part of the basement of the monastery refectory and the Church of the Protecting Veil of the Most Holy Mother of God. Beyond the walls of the St. Daniel Monastery in the enclosed zone is the Cathedral of Resurrection of Christ in Jerusalem.
There is a restaurant with 5 different halls in the left wing on the ground and first floors. The restaurant in the basement floor is open till morning. The cuisine is one of the best in Moscow, including many Russian dishes and drinks prepared according to old monastery recipes. Only here you can taste a honey beverage prepared to recipe of the times of Ivan the Terrible, «ushnoye» and «pryazhenoye» — culinary terms of processing which came down to us from Ancient Rus. There is also chicken fillet with dried apricots, poultry dishes stuffed with apples or cranberries, stuffed piglet and many others. But one of the peculiar features of the cuisine are baked goods: blinny, buns with mushrooms, cabbage, meat, cranberries — all of different shapes and sizes, but all very tasty.
